Frequently Asked Questions

Over the last few years there are a few questions that seem to come up time and time again – we hope that this new section of the website will help to put potential customer’s minds at rest.

Why do you not advertise a land line number?

Running this business and dealing with customers means that I am (fortunately) not stuck at my desk all day every day. By using my mobile number I am available for our customers most of the time – even long after most garages have closed for the day.

Why are you not located on a main road with a showroom etc?

We are a bit off the beaten track, but this helps to keep overheads down and makes our prices more competitive. Also as an internet based business we enjoy not depending on passing trade. We are still only 10 minutes from the Edinburgh City Bypass, and amongst other benefits we have great country roads for test drives.

Why do you advertise viewing by appointment?

Simply to avoid disappointment – if you are coming to see a particular car we want to be sure that we will be here and that the car is still available. If you make an appointment we will be happy to hold the car until you arrive.

I am interested in one of your cars but live a long way away. What do you suggest?

With internet usage increasing all the time, more and more customers are buying cars unseen. We regularly conclude deals over the phone and by e-mail. We provide honest and accurate descriptions and can send more photos if required. If you decide to go ahead a small deposit will secure the car for you. We can then either collect you from the airport or train station, or arrange to deliver the car for you. The balance of the payment can be taken once you have seen and driven the car. Since this business has started we have taken customer orders from as far away as – South Africa, Russia, Qatar, Denmark, Germany, and France. We have also arranged delivery of cars to Malta, Shetland and all over mainland UK. Distance is no object whatsoever!

Why do you not open on a Sunday?

It is a condition of the local authority planning department that we do not open on a Sunday. We can still be contacted by phone on a Sunday and are happy to meet customers out with normal business hours, most nights of the week, by request.

Why do you have cars at your premises that are unsold but not advertised on your website?

We always have cars in various states of preparation which are therefore not yet ready for sale. If a car is on our website it is fully prepared and is ready to drive away.
