Fraser Murray Car Sales was set up by myself (Fraser) in September 2005. My son (Iain) joined the business in 2008. Then at the end of 2016 my daughter (Rebecca) decided she wanted to be part of the family business. We are all now officially business partners.
My motor trade experience commenced in 1979 after leaving school and going straight into employment with a local Volvo Dealership (as an apprentice mechanic). That was a long time ago now and my journey, prior to becoming self-employed, saw me working with several main dealerships and gaining first-hand experience (and plenty training) with the following marques: Volvo, Subaru, Isuzu, Peugeot, Renault, Jaguar, Saab and Mercedes-Benz.
Unusually, my various positions have included roles in both Sales and Aftersales, as well as in Management. These positions included: Motor Vehicle Technician, Service Manager, After-sales Manager, Used Car Manager, Sales Manager, General Manager and Director.
Iain was always keen to join the business, and having left school in 2008 began initially as an employee. Right from the start Iain was dedicated and hard working so it was a great pleasure to make him a business partner in 2010. Whilst we have our own particular areas of expertise we both know the business inside out and ensure that at least one of us is on site at all times.
Rebecca is relatively new to the business (and to the motor trade), but is already showing the same enthusiasm and willingness to learn that Iain did from the start. Already very popular with customers and colleagues alike, it's fair to say that Rebecca fits in really well and is such a pleasure to have around.
Being my own boss (Iain and Rebecca gave me permission to say that!) allows me the privilege of being “hands on” to meet and assist customers and to offer, with Iain and Rebecca's assistance, a truly personal and caring experience. Together we all work extremely hard to ensure that every one of our cars is prepared, and presented to a standard (both mechanically and cosmetically) that few of our competitors can match. We never forget that our customers have a choice and as such are always trying to exceed expectations.
We understand that the decision to purchase a car is an expensive one that is not taken lightly, and we do what we can to make it satisfying and enjoyable. It always gives us great pleasure to see a truly satisfied customer driving off in their new car with our sticker on the rear window.
